unassisted attempt

This is my instructor

Tunica

Have arrived in Tunica.  Am with number one son.  Learning how to post on this blog.  First lesson completed.  Next, how to post a picture. Am trying to learn that now. Let's see if it works.

It worked. Eureka!

Coach Franklin Leaves Greenwood

The Franklin and Franklin Expedition has officially begun!  I've just received Coach's first trip report as he is pulling out of Greenwood headed north to Tunica.  He is expected to arrive at 5 pm when the whistle blows to officially begin the weekend!

I know that both my father and son are excited about their trip west to explore  all that the wild west has to discover.  I am however a little hurt by the entire trip.  You see, growing up in the household of Webb Franklin, I heard lots of tall tales and received lots of "well, if I were your age ____________"(fill in the blank)  These statements often included things like moving to Alaska and starting a trapping service or heading off to some island to become a tiki bar owner.  All were usually very random but there was always that one dream/story that remained constant - Webster, we've got to get in the car head west and see the Grand Canyon!  Wouldn't it be fun to put a mattress in the back of a truck, get some sardines, vienna sausages and crackers and pretend like we are modern day western explores?

Well, that father/son trip never happened....we went gambling in Reno instead!  Another story for another blog.  All I can say about this trip is....I'm a bit jealous that I was not invited but, am happy to have been replaced on my father's ultimate western expedition with my son - Hardy.  Son, I wish you the best of luck....I have a feeling you might need it!

Through the Delta I traveled...

I started my day with some Mississippi Blood (or a bacon biscuit from the place my daughter cost me a fortune for ripping the gas tank out of the cement)...I packed Oxford and headed north to Tunica to meet my expedition partner.

to be continued...
